About the Blog

Evidence first. Context always.

What We Are

The Open Knowledge is an independent blog for readers who want more than a headline. We publish sourced essays, explainers, and research notes about public affairs, economics, science, technology, culture, sport, and the ideas shaping everyday life.

We are not a breaking-news service. Our purpose is to slow a claim down, find the underlying records, and give readers enough context to judge it for themselves.

Our Mission

Information is most useful when its evidence is visible. Each post separates established facts from interpretation, links to the records behind important claims, and explains why the subject matters without assuming specialist knowledge.

We favor clarity over speed and useful context over volume. When a source is an interested party, a corporate publication, or a developing account, we identify it plainly.

What We Publish

Posts may take the form of an explainer, documented essay, source review, or commentary. Categories are topic archives rather than real-time news desks, and publication dates show when a post first appeared—not a promise that it is a live update.

How We Work

Primary records come first whenever they are available. We then use independent reporting and expert material to add context. Each post displays its evidence status, review date, and source list.

Material errors are corrected in place with a visible note. Substantive updates are dated so readers can see how a post has changed.

Editorial Independence

Topic selection and editorial conclusions are kept separate from advertising and commercial relationships. Sponsored material, if published, is labelled and does not determine our blog’s views.

The Open Knowledge is a source-led blog built to help readers explore a subject, inspect the evidence, and leave with a clearer understanding of what is known.
